Dear Friars,

Recently a man was ill, and went from bad to worse.  His illness was determined to be malaria, but no medicines or treatment brought any improvement.  He consulted other doctors and eventually it was determined that this man had a disease of the kidneys, and the prospect of recovery was considered most doubtful.

His priest visited him in his home and administered the sacrament of the sick.  This same priest advised him to make a pilgrimage to Our Lady of Consolation in Carey.

At once he began praying to Our Lady of Consolation.  Though he could not make the pilgrimage at that time, he continued praying to Our Lady, promising to visit her Shrine whenever he could.  Months later, he did visit the Shrine, and while there, found he was completely cured.  Praise God, and blessed be His Holy Mother!
