Dear Lady of Consolation:

I would like to update you on my brother’s condition, and at the same time thank you.

On St. Patrick’s Day 2005 my younger brother came to my house and told me that his physical examination had not gone well. The doctor found something suspicious on his chest X-ray.

Bob was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma, a serious cancer. My brother, sisters and I sat down together and cried. The following Sunday, our families came to Carey to pray at the Shrine.

Bob experienced the loss of his hair, his appetite, his strength and his blood was also weakened from the medicines and radiation. He never lost faith and we all prayed for him. His wife and three sons were particularly supportive.

In October 2005, Bob started getting tufts of hair back and his condition improved.

The week before Christmas, we all received a special gift. The doctors informed Bob that his cancer was in remission and to go home and have a good life. The family gathered an cried for a second time, this time with tears of joy.

I would like to testify to the power of prayer and thank Our Lady and Jesus for their powerful intercessions. Today, we have returned to the Shrine to give thanks.

Sincerely,

TM
