Dear Father,

A year ago, one of my daughter’s feet began to grow much faster than the other. Several doctors were at a loss as to what could be done for her. Our family prayed fervently to Our Lady of Consolation and I applied holy water from the Shrine to her foot.

Two weeks ago, we were astounded to discover that the foot had gone back to its normal size. When we visited the doctor, he too was astonished. We owe this great favor to Our Lady of Consolation.

Dear Friars,

In 1954, while in the second grade, my nephew came home from school with the sad news that he could not see very well. This was verified by his teachers. His school work had fallen off. Because of the seriousness of the ailment his parents took him to an eye specialist. The diagnosis was inflamed and swollen optic nerves, by which the boy was losing his vision.

In 1955, the family took the boy to the Shrine of Our Lady of Consolation. There they made the usual pilgrimage and prayed that Our Lady would return sight to their son. On their way home from the Shrine the boy suddenly exclaimed that he could read license numbers on the passing cars.

His sight became increasingly stronger [and] he no longer had to go to Braille School. When the family returned to the Shrine, the boy was able to read the regular print in his ordinary catechism. Deo Gratias.

Dear Father,

In 1979, my husband had a cancer operation on the inside of his mouth. The surgeons removed part of his jaw and cheek. A year later, the doctor was forced to remove another tumor from his throat and all of the lymph glands. It was anticipated that his voice box would also have to be removed. His condition grew worse. He was ravaged by a relentless cough.

In 1981, I went to the Shrine on a pilgrimage [and] asked one of the Friars to pray for my husband. I told them of the cancer in his throat. The Friar placed his hand on my throat and prayed most fervently.

When I returned home I placed my hands on my husband’s throat. He told me that while I was praying at the Shrine, his horrible cough ended. The doctor is continually amazed that my husband’s mouth and vocal cords have no more malignancy. Not for one moment do any of us doubt this is a wonderful healing from Our Lady of Consolation. God be praised!
