A lot to be thankful for

Dear Friars,

I was at your Shrine about 3 years ago. My daughter, 41 years old, was in a horrible accident.

Her whole side was broken. They did not know if she would ever walk again. Thanks to Our Lady of Consolation, prayers from her family, friends and church and wonderful medical help, 14 operations on her leg and foot, she has finally started back to her old job with a promotion. She is now going on to college again to get her masters degree in nursing.

When she had the accident, she was a surgical nurse. She lost 3 jobs from the accident but things are really looking up for her. We have a lot to be thankful for.

Near death's door

Several years ago a woman was taken with a severe and extremely painful attack of rheumatic fever, which brought her near death’s door and left her crippled.

Medicines and doctors seemed to do no good. She lived on for some years only able to hobble about on crutches.

Bipolar Miracle
After six long years of debilitating Bipolar Disorder I considered making a trip to Our Lady of Consolation. I had anger, anxiety and a deep rooted hurt that bound me up like a caged animal. I could not break out of this clouded darkness that hovered over our family and home. My wife stayed by my side despite a very unpleasant living environment. I went to Our Lady of

My brother's condition

I would like to update you on my brother’s condition, and at the same time thank you.

On St. Patrick’s Day 2005 my younger brother came to my house and told me that his physical examination had not gone well. The doctor found something suspicious on his chest X-ray.

Bob was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma, a serious cancer. My brother, sisters and I sat down together and cried. The following Sunday, our families came to Carey to pray at the Shrine.
