2010: A Year of Blessing
This year we have a wonderful opportunity to reflect upon all of the blessings God has bestowed on us in the past and to look forward to the ones he will give to us during the coming year. At Our Lady of Consolation this year, we are choosing to look at our Shrine as a place of great blessings, large and small. So many people come here looking for God’s touch in their lives and leave at peace and with hope in their hearts. We hope that you, too, will open your hearts to the many blessings God bestows here through the intersession of Our Lady of Consolation. Whether you can come here in person or send us your prayer intentions through the mail or over the Internet, please let us share with you the many blessings God grants through the prayers of Our Lady of Consolation.

Blessed Adam of Perseigne has given us such lovely words in his writings on Our Blessed Mother. If these words could be in our minds and hearts, we would find much strength and consolation for our days on this earth: “You, My Lady, are my all. In your hands has been stored for me the fullness of all-good. For those who are yours, you are aid in oppression, help in time of crisis, temperance in prosperity, joy in time of wanting, refreshment in toil.†|

So often when I am tired or worn out at the end of a day, I feel that I have no time for prayer. Things that I feel I must do in the course of a day overtake me and there is no more strength. I have found these words of Saint Cajetan a great comfort to me and worth remembering: “Do not waver in our purpose, because even if all the saints and every single creature should abandon you, He will always be near you, whatever may be your needs.†|
