2010: A Year of Blessing
This year we have a wonderful opportunity to reflect upon all of the blessings God has bestowed on us in the past and to look forward to the ones he will give to us during the coming year. At Our Lady of Consolation this year, we are choosing to look at our Shrine as a place of great blessings, large and small. So many people come here looking for Godâs touch in their lives and leave at peace and with hope in their hearts. We hope that you, too, will open your hearts to the many blessings God bestows here through the intersession of Our Lady of Consolation. Whether you can come here in person or send us your prayer intentions through the mail or over the Internet, please let us share with you the many blessings God grants through the prayers of Our Lady of Consolation.

Blessed Francis Xavier Seelos reminds us of that âone wordâ: âGodâs most earnest desire is to give us His grace, since He wishes the salvation of all, but He gives it under certain conditions â Now what are those conditions under which God gives grace and strength? I can answer in one word: âPrayerâ.â |

When we think of the world around us, our own place, our own responsibilities, we should remember the words of Saint Ignatius of Loyola: âWe are created to share in Godâs love and life for eternity.â |

Our Great Saint Anthony of Padua asks us the question: âIf created things are so full of holiness, how resplendent with beauty must be the One who made them!â In these days before Christmas we are reminded so many times of things beautiful. Our decorations, the Christmas card with the lovely artistic pictures of the greatest and most beautiful of all Godâs gifts to us, His Divine Son who comes to us as a little baby. Yet the most beautiful of all Godâs gifts to us, we may not see, touch or smell. Godâs gift to us in His Son, for all time and eternity! |
